Auckland Art Gallery

On Friday we visited the Auckland Art Gallery.  We made a piece of art looking at our personal journey.  It was fun experimenting with the ink.  We got to see and discuss paintings, photographs and sculptures.

Fun with Science

We are doing science experiments to test if there is more bacteria on our hands before or after washing our hands in soap and water.  We are growing the bacteria on agar plates.  We wrote a hypothesis and method.  Now we will wait to see the results.

Jamie's Teach the Teacher

We are getting good at using Google Docs, these are Jamie's instructions on how to make a cartapult:

Lollipop catapult

1st step get five lollistick and two rubber bands twist together.

2nd step

A rubber band and two sticks.

Attach one stick on top and one underneath.  the rubber band we cross it over.

3rd step

Get a rubber band and cross it over

4th  step we get some sticky tape and milk lid and put the sticky tape on the milk lid then attach the milk lid and put it on.

Then get a mini size ball and place it in the catapult.

Then fire!!!!!!!3rd step we get a milk bottlel  lid and some sticky tape. Put the lid on the sticky on the lid then put the lid on the catapult then your done.

Room 14's Korowai

We have all contributed feathers to make a class korowai.  A korowai is a Maori cloak that is generally woven or made from flax or feathers.  We tried to incorporate colours from our cultures on our feathers.  It looks beautiful!  We are very proud. Our korowai signifies our class coming together as a whanau under the seven stars of Matariki.  Thanks Mrs Taylor for arranging our beautiful cloak.

Matariki Celebrations

We read the story Seven Stars of Matariki by Toni Rollerston. In our art we are flying our kite at night in the wind, our kite will fly away to make the 7th star, can you see the wind gusts?  Come into the class to see the rest of our beautiful art.
