"Children will feel compelled to protect what they understand and feel connected to." David Suzuki

Have you have you had your nature time today?

We have been learning all about Leap Years, we feel bad for all the babies born today who have to wait 4 years until the 29/2 is here again.

Our Poetree

We wrote haiku poems today about chameleons.  We had to learn all about this camouflaging reptile before we wrote our poems, did you know they are carnivores?

The Metamorphosis Song

We are learning how to write a Recount, luckily we have had guests in Room 14 to write about - tadpoles!

We have learnt that tadpoles turn to floglets and then adult frogs; this process is called metamorphosis.  We even sang a metamorphosis song.  We have a song for everything in Room 14.
The tadpoles eat lettuce and frozen broccoli.

Thanks to the Trembaths for letting us have your tadpoles today!

We will post some of our Recounts soon, they are still in the planning stages.

Creating our Class Treaty

We worked in groups to brainstorm our ideas

Great ideas to help us all work together in a happy/safe class

We shared our ideas with the class

We made our Class Treaty and signed it like we saw them do on the Treaty of Waitangi
